Sofia Angelou start her career as talent in preschool age. She was recognized as dancing talent from her ballet teacher in Asenovgrad but refuse his invitation to transfer to the Russian Ballet Academy in Sofia where he become director. She was never professional dancer and never joint any dance groups. Sofia love art and music with influence from her mother and grandmother. Succeeding in many competitions she was a member of Children’s choir Bodra Smyana, Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir, reading children’s stories on the radio of Bulgaria. She was the first child in the entire family, which ambitions for her future give her directions to try opportunities in acting, singing and sports, taking acting classes and very minor appearances in few movies, voice, piano, music theory, solfege and jazz private lessons. From 10 000 boys and girls, Sofia was in the first 100 best giving results for athletic discipline like running, jumping and many other physical tests part from the selection and acceptance for the Athletic youth Team Vasil Levski of Emil Markov at national Sports Academy Vasil Levski. She left after two years because of nonpermanent muscle strain injury and decide to end her sport career going back to finish her education in Bratya Miladinovi secondary school. In 1987 she won contest for talents and only 15 yrs. Old become the youngest of only ten members chosen from Municipal Cultural Institute-House of Culture Sredets to perform and tour on the biggest stages of Bulgaria and Europe with top artists. This is how her professional singing career start. Because of her busy schedule, Sofia have to become private student in 1988-1989 and pass most of her exams with excellent when at same time she was chosen from The School Directors Board and become The Official School Representative for two years until graduation. Her singing career last about 12 years with almost no time off under the stage names of Sofi, Sofia and Sofia Angelou. At the beginning she also perform in “Duo Secunda” with another girl but end after two years as result of personal and artistic differences point of views. Being a singer and host with some acting and modeling from time to time, performing front of big audiences sometimes up to 30 000 people in arenas, stadiums, open stages, amphitheaters, theaters, cultural centers, schools, colleges and party facilities, the career of Sofia Angelou become success from concerts, shows, events, competitions and chains of beauty pageants in Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Cyprus. Sofia was known for her life singing performed with band, big-band, saxophone and pianist, only single pianist and so playback background sometimes in styles in styles of pop, jazz and classics. Recording two songs she wrote at young age, one of which “The Most I Like” cussed to the top as first Bulgarian rap. The second track she made was mixture of modern pop and ancient religious styles. She give some live interviews on Bulgarian National TV & Radio Stations, also in Yugoslavia as performer and hosting beauty pageants in Belgrade and Skopje at the time when unexpectedly military was moving to start the war. Few months later some of the stations and places she was at was destroyed from bombing. In Bulgaria & Yugoslavia Most of her events have been contracted through the Bulgarian Government, Ministry of Culture, Municipal Cultural Institute, Bulgarian TV & Radio, Sofia, Bulgaria. After the communist regime break down in Bulgaria and citizens with foreign backgrounds like her Greek origins have been allowed to travel outside the country, her first long-term contract overseas for Monte Caputo, Limassol, Cyprus was made through the management services of the prime Bulgarian musicologist and impresario Georgi Kovachev, who also have contract some of her concerts in Bulgarian Halls. Among the top international artists at that time, Sofia Angelou was the longest contracted singer for four years in the biggest at that time music hall in Europe and Mediterranean located at the Greek Island of Cyprus, performing almost every night front of few thousand people crowd. She decide to restart in 2019 and continue her artist career with new prospects of proceeding and future entertainment projects.Available at present time for creating shows and appearances as singer, host, model and actress.
